Our team of childbirth educators, doulas, and lactation consultants is committed to empowering you to make educated decisions that align with your values, your body, and your unique circumstances. From early pregnancy through birth and the first days at home with your baby, we provide continuous guidance, advocay, and hands-on support- honoring your autonomy while offering trusted knowledge and compassionate care every step of the way.
Our Story
The Maternity Corner was founded by Joanne Thevenin MBA, RN, CBE, a labor and delivery nurse, who witnessed firsthand how gaps in education and access to resources can impact the birth experience. Time and again, she cared for laboring patients who felt overwhelmed, unsure of their options, and unable to confidently advocate for themselves- not because they didn't care, but because they were never given the knowledge or support needed to do so. These moments highlighted a critical need for compassionate, evidence-based education and continuous support beyond the hospital setting.
Driven by the belief that informed patients experience better outcomes, Joanne created The Maternity Corner as a one-stop resource for pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. By bringing together childbirth educatton, doula care, and lactation support under one roof, we aim to bridge the gap between clinical care and personal support. Our mission is to ensure every family has access to the knowledge, guidance, and compassionate care they need to make empowered decisions, advocate with confidence, and feel fully supported throughout their pregnancy journey and beyond.
